Height: 185cm
Nationality: British

Dave has been fond of endurance sports, travelling and the outdoors for most of his life. He swam his first kilometer at the age of 8 and walked halfway across Hong Kong Island the same year after forgetting his school bus money. He completed his first military march of 160km at the age of 14.

Dave has since done over 30 multi-day organised ultra-distance walks and runs. This includes 11 official finishes of the annual Nijmegen 4-Day Marches in the Netherlands and 7 finishes of the Bornem 100km “Dodentocht”. In 2010 he cycled halfway around Iceland despite having not sat on a bike for nearly 5 years unless it was bolted to a gym floor.

Why do you want to run?
Many reasons, I want to do one thing every year that I have never done before, something that can take me out of my comfort zone and the fantastic opportunity to raise money and awareness for RMDH.
The training regime that Jamie is putting together looks pretty awesome and is a complete departure from the long-slow-distance (LSD) training that I am used to.

What are you most looking forward to?
Looking forward to the adventure and comradery of a great team, the awesome landscapes and creating memories that will last a lifetime…

What are you least looking forward to?
Like Simon, not actually running this year

Give one interesting fact we didn’t know about you?
In my spare time I like writing bios in the third person.
