I’m a big fan of the outdoors, so am just happy to be out there whether it’s swimming and freediving in the sea, or running in the bush – anything that’s a bit of a challenge. I have always run – but mainly to keep fit for other activities rather than being the main focus itself.
In the last two years though I’ve become hooked on the idea of running ‘ultra distances’ and having completed my first 60km run I’m now keen to be involved in more endurance events.
Why do you want to be involved with the MMFM run?
Hearing about last years MMFM I knew straight away this was something I really wanted to be involved in. I think you can learn a lot about yourself by pushing up to and beyond your physical limits. I also love the idea of being able to give something back to the community and raising money for a worthy cause.
Unfortunately due to family commitments I’m am unable to participate in the run this year – instead I’ll be supporting the cause and the guys in their preparation before they go.
What are you most looking forward to?
Training with the team using ‘non-traditional’ endurance training techniques (bye bye LSD), and having the opportunity to be involved in something epic. Its going to be exciting being part of the team build up while they push themselves further than they have been before.
What are you least looking forward to?
Not actually being able to go this time
